Dear friend,

Yes, I’m talking to you. The wonderful person reading this. My name is Merah. Welcome to my corner of the internet. Keep reading, because I wrote this letter just for you! ;)

No matter where you are, what you’ve faced today, or this week, I want to meet you right where you’re at. So, take a deep breath with me. Let’s take the time to slow down and reflect.

I’m coming to you today because I believe… my friend, it’s about time! It’s about time that you get a little pick-me-up. And no, I’m not talking about coffee or caffeine, a piece of chocolate, or ice cream. But I’ll be honest, the moment I get some ice cream (especially with a dark chocolate shell), I am picked up to say the least. I feel better. And after two of them, I feel WAY better. ;)

I’d like you to ponder with me. When was the last time you heard a message that changed everything? Take a second and think about it. When it happened, did someone approach you or send you a message? Was it a quote in a book or on social media? What about a recent YouTube video? Bonus points if whatever it was made you smile. Hopefully, for you, it wasn’t too long ago. :) I’m reaching towards filling your heart yet again with that same goodness. I’m talking about encouragement! You never know, it could change someone’s life. Here’s the deal: YOU are alive today and reading this letter. So, GUESS WHAT? You are living proof that one encouraging word can change everything.

The kind of encouragement I believe that can change a life is a reminder. That you’re on the right path, that it’s going to be okay, the beauty found in the simplest things. All this and more! A few years ago, the Lord gave me a reminder that He wants you to know today. It burns so deeply in my heart. But even more, it is the Lord’s passion to remind you.

Yes, I’m talking about God, the Creator of all things and the one who values you more than anything. He’s the kind who not only buys a greeting card and signs His name. He fills the entire second half with reminders and truth. Imagine someone caring for you that much! Well, you don’t have to imagine it. Because it’s true!

If you allow me, I’d like to remind your soul today of who you are.

Imagine walking into a room and people immediately recognize who you are. You feel so welcomed and seen! Some wave. A few smile. One even comes up to hug you. You see, that is how God feels about you! God knows you. He sees you. You are valid. You are enough because He is the God of more than enough.

You have searched me, Lord,
    and You know me.
You know when I sit and when I rise;
    You perceive my thoughts from afar.
You discern my going out and my lying down;
    You are familiar with all my ways. – Psalm 139: 1-3

Other people might know your name. People recognize you and know who you are. But the most joy comes from being seen by God. Being known by the Heavenly Father is the best status you could ever possess.

you are known.

In God's eyes, you are not left out. You are not second best. You are priceless! Self-worth is such an important thing. So many circumstances and pressures try to lessen it. Life can oftentimes feel like being back in grade school, and waiting for someone to choose you for their team. You wait, only to find that they chose someone next to you. Sometimes it feels like it’s taken an eternity for someone to notice you. Others, you feel like you’re picked last or glossed over. But in the Lord, your worth will never decrease.

Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. – Luke 12: 6-7

You will never be picked last. You’ll never go unnoticed. My friend, you are not a mistake. You are not an accident. Instead, you are here on purpose! You are a masterpiece.

you are not forgotten.

In case you didn't know, God loves you. You’ve seen the phrase “you are loved” placed everywhere lately. It’s a great sentiment, and it’s nice to see it. But for you, I’d like to take this concept a bit farther. God doesn’t just say it with words. He said it with action. Jesus gave His everything to prove His love for you. He died to show you.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. – John 3: 16

If no one else has told you this today. I’d like to be the first. Hear this, friend. God loves you! You are loved! I promise you this: you will never feel more loved than you are when you are His.
