4. Thanksgiving
This is Merah’s mom, a guest writing for November’s post.
As we come into a season of Thanksgiving, I think to myself, What is Thanks-giving? Those two words go hand-in-hand—thanks and giving. I’m going to get right to the root of it. Knowing Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the greatest gift of giving that we can ever receive. You can give jewelry, gift cards, cars, homes, but the gift of salvation will always outshine them all.
Now, where do all these thanks and giving start?
It starts and always will be in Jesus Christ.
The hope God has given us in Him. The gift of eternal life is the most precious thing we will ever have in this life. It started with giving.
For God so loved the world, that He GAVE His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
- John 3:16 KJV (emphasis added)
And it carries on with our thankfulness to Him. Thanking Him every day for His love, mercy, grace, goodness, kindness, longsuffering, and eternal life with Him.
That is and always will be my Thanks-giving.
